VAT and e-invoicing for travel agencies in the UAE
VAT on travel depends on what you sell, as principal or as agent, and where each part is supplied. This page does not set out a VAT treatment for travel services: agree yours with your tax adviser before you start invoicing, and we will help you set up your items and tax codes to match. Input VAT at 5% on local bills is collected as you post them, and the VAT 201 is laid out from the ledger for you to enter on EmaraTax.
Invoices to companies are business invoices under the UAE e-invoicing mandate. Aqid ERP signs each one as PINT AE XML today; an agency under AED 50M of revenue appoints an accredited service provider by 31 March 2027 and sends through it from 1 July 2027. Aqid ERP's connection to a provider is not yet live, and it is not a provider itself.
The exclusions announced so far include international passenger flights with e-tickets. Whether, and how, that reaches tickets an agency sells is a question for your adviser and the FTA, not something Aqid ERP decides for you.
