Who pays through the WPS
Every establishment registered with MOHRE pays its employees' wages through the WPS, on the due date. Payment goes through a bank, an exchange house or another financial institution approved to run WPS transfers, which reports each salary to MOHRE.
The due date since Resolution No. 340 of 2026
- The previous month's wages are due on the first day of each Gregorian month.
- MOHRE's graduated measures start on the second day after the due date: electronic alerts, notifications and continuous monitoring of the establishment.
- The old rule, under which wages counted as late only after 15 days, belonged to the resolutions this one replaced.
What the employer prepares each month
- The salary information file (SIF) for every employee, with the fixed and variable pay, in the format the agent asks for.
- Funds with the agent before the due date, so the transfer reaches the employees' accounts on the 1st.
- Reasons for any employee not paid or paid in part, kept with the month's payroll.
What delay costs
The resolution's measures rise with how long wages stay unpaid, and MOHRE has long used the suspension of new work permits against establishments that do not pay. The 2026 resolution's steps beyond the first are set out in its own text; read it on MOHRE's site before you rely on a figure from anywhere else.
How Aqid ERP helps
Aqid ERP runs UAE payroll monthly in AED and posts each run to the ledger, with the end-of-service accrual and overtime as lines on it. It does not yet produce the SIF itself: the net pay per employee is exported, and your WPS agent's format is filled from it. Run payroll before the month ends, so the file reaches the agent in time for the 1st.
