EmaraTax

The FTA's online platform where a UAE business registers, files its returns, pays and deregisters.

In Arabic: إمارات تاكس

Meaning

EmaraTax (إمارات تاكس) is the Federal Tax Authority's digital platform. A business opens one account on it and, through that account, registers for VAT, corporate tax and excise, files its VAT 201 returns and corporate tax returns, pays what is due, amends its registration details, asks for refunds and, when the time comes, applies to deregister.

Each registration on the account has its own actions: under VAT, for example, the business finds its returns, its certificate with the TRN and the De-register action. A tax agent appointed through the platform can act for the business. Deadlines run regardless of the platform: a VAT return is due by the 28th day after the period, a corporate tax return within nine months of the year's end, and EmaraTax is simply where both are met.
