Saudis on the old system
A Saudi who had contributions before 3 July 2024 stays on the old rates, on basic wage plus housing allowance:
| Annuities (pension), employee | 9 % |
|---|---|
| Annuities, employer | 9 % |
| SANED (unemployment), each side | 0.75 % |
| Occupational hazards, employer | 2 % |
| Total: employee / employer | 9.75 % / 11.75 % |
Saudis on the new system
A Saudi first registered on or after 3 July 2024 pays an annuities share that rises half a point a year on each side, from 9 % to 11 %. SANED and occupational hazards are unchanged. The steps start each July:
| From July 2024 | 9.75 % / 11.75 % |
|---|---|
| From July 2025 | 10.25 % / 12.25 % |
| From July 2026 | 10.75 % / 12.75 % |
| From July 2027 | 11.25 % / 13.25 % |
| From July 2028 | 11.75 % / 13.75 % |
Non-Saudi employees
Only occupational hazards apply: 2 %, paid by the employer. Nothing is deducted from the employee's pay.
The wage it is worked on
Contributions are calculated on basic wage plus housing allowance, up to SAR 45,000 a month. Transport, overtime and bonuses are not included. Contributions are due within the first 15 days of the following month, and late payment carries a fine of 2 % of the unpaid amount for each month or part of a month.
How Aqid ERP handles it
Mark each Saudi employee as old or new system, and Aqid ERP's payroll takes the right rates for every month by its payday, including each July step. Payslips show both shares, and the employer's share posts as wage cost with the total owed to GOSI.
