Check a ZATCA e-invoice QR code

Paste the text inside the QR code of a Saudi tax invoice to see what it says and whether it is well formed — Phase 1 or Phase 2.

Scan the code with any QR reader and paste what it shows. To use the camera or a photo instead, open the scanner.

About e-invoice QR codes

What is in a ZATCA QR code?

A Phase 1 code holds five fields in TLV form: the seller's name, the VAT number, the time of issue, the total with VAT and the VAT amount. A Phase 2 code adds the invoice hash, the digital signature and the public key, and on a simplified invoice ZATCA's stamp.

Does a well-formed code mean the invoice was reported?

No. A well-formed code shows the invoice was produced the way the rules require; whether it was cleared or reported is in the seller's ZATCA records.

Which invoices carry a QR code?

In Saudi Arabia every simplified tax invoice must, and standard tax invoices carry one too. The other Gulf countries do not use this code.
