A price, a scope and an expiry
A quotation (عرض سعر) is an offer: these items, at these prices, until this date. It binds the seller for the period stated and nothing more; it is not a tax invoice, it carries no QR code and it creates no VAT. Showing VAT on it is still right, because the customer wants to know the amount they will pay, and the invoice that follows must match.
- A quotation number and date, and the date until which it is valid.
- Seller and customer details, as they will appear on the invoice.
- Lines with description, quantity, unit price, taxable amount, VAT at 15 percent and total.
- Terms: delivery time, payment terms, what is excluded.
- A place for the customer's acceptance: a signed quotation is an order.
From quotation to tax invoice
When the customer accepts, the quotation becomes the source of the sales order and then of the tax invoice. The numbers should flow unchanged: same lines, same prices, VAT recomputed per line in the invoice. In Aqid ERP a quotation is converted with one action, so the invoice never retypes the quote.
| Quotation | No VAT event; valid to the date shown |
