Where it stands in Oman

What accounting software in Oman has to do, and how far Aqid ERP goes today. The details are on the accounting software page.

  • Announced — not yet in the product

Fawtara announced — not yet connected

The Tax Authority's e-invoicing system, Fawtara, starts with a pilot from August 2026 and is required from 1 April 2027 for taxpayers above OMR 5 million, and from 1 October 2027 for everyone else. Aqid ERP issues bilingual tax invoices with the buyer's VATIN but does not yet produce the PINT OM format or transmit to Fawtara.

  • In the product, with a gap

VAT 5 % and the Tax Authority return

The Tax Authority's return laid out box by box from the ledger, with the reverse charge and deferred import VAT, and the documents behind each figure. Not yet checked against the TA portal; you file it there yourself.

  • In the product, with a gap

    SPF contributions and gratuity

Monthly payroll in OMR with Social Protection Fund contributions by nationality and the end-of-service gratuity under article 61 for expatriates, split at 31 July 2023. A WPS salary file for Oman's banks is not yet produced.

  • In the product

    Books in Arabic and English

An append-only ledger with three-decimal rial amounts, an Omani chart of accounts, withholding tax, bank reconciliation, multi-currency and consolidation across companies.

What it does not do yet

  • Invoicing: Aqid ERP does not yet produce the PINT OM format, is not an accredited Fawtara service provider, and transmits nothing to the Tax Authority; this page claims no approval from it. If your business is in an early Fawtara phase, issue through an accredited provider until Aqid ERP connects.
  • Payroll & WPS: A WPS salary file for Oman's banks is not yet produced. The SPF savings scheme that is to replace expatriates' gratuity, and expatriates' work-injury branch, are not in force and not in the table. Have a payroll adviser check the first run.
  • Accounting & reports: Bank feeds through Lean are built but not yet connected to a live bank; statements are imported as files. Aqid ERP is young: the ledger is tested by more than 2,000 automated checks, not yet by years of customers.
