Withholding tax (Oman)

Oman's 10% tax held back from certain payments to non-residents and paid to the Tax Authority by the 14th of the next month.

In Arabic: الضريبة المستقطعة (عُمان)

Meaning

A payment to a non-resident for royalties, research and development, the use of computer software, management fees or services, dividends or interest carries Omani withholding tax of 10% of the gross amount. The payer holds it back and pays it to the Tax Authority by the 14th day after the end of the month in which it paid or credited the amount.

A tax treaty between Oman and the recipient's country can lower the rate, if the conditions are met and documented. The payer is liable for tax it should have withheld and did not.
