Where it stands in Kuwait
What accounting software in Kuwait has to do, and how far Aqid ERP goes today. The details are on the accounting software page.
- Not applicable
No e-invoicing mandate
Kuwait has no VAT and no e-invoicing mandate. Invoices are issued in Arabic and English and kept as PDF/A-3; nothing is transmitted to an authority.
- Not applicable
No VAT
Kuwait has not brought VAT into force, so there is no VAT return and no VAT on an invoice. Income tax, Zakat and NLST are not computed; the books give your adviser the figures.
- In the product, with a gap
PIFSS and the indemnity under article 51
Monthly payroll in KWD with PIFSS contributions for Kuwaiti employees, the end-of-service indemnity under articles 51 and 53 for everyone, and payslips in Arabic and English. A WPS salary file for Kuwait's banks is not yet produced.
- In the product
Books in Arabic and English
An append-only ledger with three-decimal dinar amounts, a Kuwaiti chart of accounts, bank reconciliation, multi-currency and consolidation across companies.
What it does not do yet
- Invoicing: Kuwait has no VAT and no e-invoicing mandate, so Aqid ERP clears and reports nothing and puts no QR code or XML on a Kuwaiti invoice; this page claims no approval from any Kuwaiti authority.
- Payroll & WPS: A WPS salary file for Kuwait's banks is not yet produced; GCC nationals' contributions and daily-paid workers are not modelled; and the rates have not been confirmed with the PIFSS for every category. Have a payroll adviser check the first run.
- Accounting & reports: Bank feeds through Lean are built but not yet connected to a live bank; statements are imported as files. Aqid ERP is young: the ledger is tested by more than 2,000 automated checks, not yet by years of customers.
