Tax card (Qatar)

The GTA's proof that a business is registered for tax in Qatar, carrying its tax identification number.

In Arabic: البطاقة الضريبية (قطر)

Meaning

The tax card (البطاقة الضريبية) is the certificate the General Tax Authority issues when it approves a business's tax registration, with the business's Tax Identification Number (TIN). The GTA asks a business to register within 60 days of its commercial registration, or of first earning income in Qatar; once approved, the card is downloaded from "My Certificates" in the business's Dhareeba account.

A business that takes its commercial registration through the Single Window platform is registered with the GTA automatically, without a separate application on Dhareeba. Registration is not only for taxpayers: a company wholly owned by Qatari or GCC nationals, exempt from income tax, still registers, receives its TIN and files a return every year.

Example

Al Waha Trading W.L.L. receives its commercial registration on 2 March and registers on Dhareeba on 20 March, well inside the 60 days. The GTA approves it and the company downloads its tax card, with its TIN, from "My Certificates".
