Meaning
Dhareeba (ضريبة, "tax") is the General Tax Authority's portal. A user signs in through Qatar's National Authentication System and, from the dashboard, registers the business, files its returns and statements, and pays what they show; the tax card is downloaded from the same account once the registration is approved.
Each tax has its own service on the portal: the annual income tax return, with the simplified return for an exempt Qatari- or GCC-owned company with capital below QAR 1 million and income below QAR 5 million; the monthly withholding tax statement; the quarterly excise return; and refund and objection requests. Penalties, such as QAR 500 a day for a late income tax return, are raised and paid there too.
Also called: Dhareeba portal · ضريبة · GTA portal
Example
Al Waha Trading W.L.L. signs in to Dhareeba on 20 April, submits its income tax return for the calendar year with its audited financial statements, and pays the QAR 39,200 the return shows ten days before the 30 April deadline.
