Where it stands in Bahrain

What accounting software in Bahrain has to do, and how far Aqid ERP goes today. The details are on the accounting software page.

  • Not applicable

    No e-invoicing mandate yet

Bahrain has VAT but no e-invoicing mandate yet; the NBR has signalled plans. Invoices are bilingual tax invoices kept as PDF/A-3; nothing is transmitted.

  • In the product, with a gap

VAT 10 % and the NBR return

The National Bureau for Revenue's return layout filled from the ledger, with the documents behind each figure. Not yet checked against the NBR portal; you file it there yourself.

  • In the product, with a gap

    SIO contributions and indemnity

Monthly payroll in BHD with SIO contributions by nationality and leaving indemnity under article 116. A WPS salary file for Bahrain's banks is not yet produced.

  • In the product

    Books in Arabic and English

An append-only ledger with three-decimal dinar amounts, a Bahraini chart of accounts, bank reconciliation, multi-currency and consolidation across companies.

What it does not do yet

  • Invoicing: Bahrain has no e-invoicing mandate yet, so Aqid ERP transmits nothing and puts no QR code or XML on a Bahraini invoice; this page claims no approval from the NBR. The return layout has not yet been checked against the NBR portal with a live filing.
  • Payroll & WPS: A WPS salary file for Bahrain's banks is not yet produced, and the SIO rates have not been confirmed with the SIO for every category. Have a payroll adviser check the first run.
  • Accounting & reports: Bank feeds through Lean are built but not yet connected to a live bank; statements are imported as files. Aqid ERP is young: the ledger is tested by more than 2,000 automated checks, not yet by years of customers.
